Angels in Exile Records launches on December 12th, 2011 and specialises in putting out releases by artists that we love and whom continue the Rock and Roll spirit. Our aim is to put out full CD albums with booklets and line notes, whilst at the same time simultaneously making mp3 downloads also available through the usual media.

Once launched, we're also looking into the possibility of putting out some Vinyl releases. These may take the form of limited edition 7" or 12" pressings, we'll see.

Artists Plans
The initial three releases we plan to put out are outlined below. The first release is the debut album by The Machines, and contains their new songs as well as bonus tracks. The second release will hopefully be the long-awaited Southend Punk Rock CD, a compilation album of various artists from the towns Punk History. The third release in the trilogy will be an album by cult UK Glam Punk band The Ghosts of Lovers.

Various Artists - Southend Punk Rock History 1976 - 1986 (ANGELS002-AIECD)
This compilation aims to document as many of the bands as possible from the punk rock era that emerged from Southend and its environs. Many bands have contributed tracks that will be making their debut appearance on CD. The compilation itself emerged as an idea after the success of the Southend Punk Rock History website, with many people asking to hear these bands whom hadn't had a voice for a long time. The exact track listing is still in flux, but bands scheduled include The Machines, The Vicars, The Bullies, The Kronstadt Uprising, The Sinyx, The Burning Idols, Allegiance To No One, The Prey and many more. If successful, further volumes, including a Post-Punk compilation, will be released.

The Ghosts of Lovers debut album 'The Ghosts of Lovers' will include all the tracks that the band recorded during their all too brief time together. If space allows, there may be room or extra live / rehearsal tracks. Although little known outside of their native London, the band continue to inspire like minded souls and this release celebrates their achievements. Tracks that will certainly be included are: Tonight, Iona, Don't Be Afraid, Souls On Fire, So Lonely, Another Time, Sweet Sensitive Young Thing, Light of My Sanity, (Requiem For) Candy, Sea of Madness + That Girl. Pending interest in this release, Angels in Exile may look into putting out a DVD of a rare live gig by the band in Lincoln as well as archive rehearsal footage.
