It is the brainchild of that far out and with it leader of the Children of the Re-evolution - Southend's very own Dream Maker who runs this Dream Machine for all you spaced out swingers of the now generation. Influences for the club are far and wide, ranging from the Dream Makers love of the music and spirit of the late 1960's, with its abundance of magical mad hatters, freaked out flower children and surrealistic swingers, to the carefree and loving attitudes around at that time, expressed in the pop anthems of the period.

The idea of the club is NOT revivalist, but is created, as mentioned earlier to embody the music and spirit of the late 1960's, with an 80's ambience and flavour. The music played is a general trip through the psychedelic spectrum, ranging from The Lemon Pipers (of Jelly Jungle Fame) to the Lords of the New Church, from Iggy Pop to the Chocolate Watchband, from the Electric Prunes to Lou Reed etc.

The club is a counter balance to the noise pollution currently perpetrated by the purveyors of puerile pop -i.e. all the uncool dudes who've delved into Pandora's Box and have experienced a brain drain, and aren't part of the Now Generation.

The Taste Experience is not drugsville Arizona, and isn't a refuge for hung up freaks and juice heads - But, for many people, it is the ultimate dream land - the only mind expanding is instigated by the Dream Maker, putting his Dream Machine into action sending you to Cloud 9.
