'Thunders, Kane and Nolan - You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory' - DVD

On January 4th, 1987, Johnny Thunders, Arthur "Killer" Kane, and Jerry Nolan performed an informal reunion at the Roxy in LA, and with the help of Barry Jones (Idols/London Cowboys) on second guitar and Barbara 'Babsie' Kane on occasional backing vocals, the band performed a truly killer set. Sadly, of the three, only Arthur Kane lived long enough to briefly enjoy the Dolls formal reunion in London years later. This DVD features great performances of Pipeline, Blame it on Mom, Personality Crisis, I Can Tell, Dead Or Alive, Can't Keep My Eyes On You, I Ain't Superstitious, Too Much Junkie Business, You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory, Eve of Destruction, Lonely Planet Boy, The Wizard, Play With Fire, Green Onions, In the Midnight Hour, Little Queenie, Born to Lose, Baby What You Want Me To Do, Courageous Cat and Chinese Rocks.

Unlike many DVD's that are of dubious audio/video quality to say the least, I think this DVD had got great sound, and the visual quality is high. My only (slight) gripe would be that more camera angles would have been nice, but ultimately if one combines the scarcity value of this great performance combined with the quality of the sound and visuals, quite simply Lonely Planet Boy says that you simply must buy this for your collection - it's great! Johnny especially was on great form, looking as cool as ever and playing every note as though his life depended on it - reason alone to get the DVD - add in all the other great performances too, and you're a left with a real killer show.
